Happy Sunday lovers! I hope you are still staying safe? As we go out to our various place of worship, don’t forget Covid’19 is still out there, use your mask and observe your social distance.. Our last discussion was on importance of Self-esteem. Today I want to talk some more about healthy Self-esteem. Don’t forget the best you can be is to be yourself😘
Factors Influencing Self-esteem
As you might imagine, many factors influence self-esteem more often than not our experiences usually form the basis for overall self-esteem. The following can also determine your Self-Esteem:
- Your inner thinking
- Disabilities or physical limitations,
- Those who consistently receive overly critical or negative assessments from family and friends, for example, will likely experience low self-esteem
- Genetic factors that help shape a person’s personality can play a role.
- Potential illnesses,
- Age
- Your job can affect your self-esteem.
Let’s say say you think very little of yourself and your capabilities, while everyone else in the world thinks very highly of you and your capabilities. In this case, you have very low self esteem, even though other people’s esteem of you is extremely high.
To consider the opposite example, let’s say you think very positively of yourself and your capabilities, while everyone else in the world thinks very negatively of you and your capabilities. In this case, you have very high self esteem, even though other people’s esteem of you is very low.
The best you can be is to be yourself and be proud of it.
